ITALIAN TRAIN WRECKED
Unofficial Reports Put Deaths at More Than 500

NAPLES, March 5 (U.P.) - Unconfirmed reports said today that more than 500 Italians had been killed, many by asphyxiation, and others had been injured when a train crowded with passengers was derailed in a tunnel in southern Italy on Friday.

Italian railway authorities said that details would not be available until an investigation had been completed. Unofficial reports said that there was only one survivor when the train was derailed at a mountain point on a steep grade.
